The brief

A major high-street book retailer needed a bespoke software bridge between their ERP/WMS platform and an automated book-packing and labelling machine. The integration was technically demanding — a proprietary machine controller talking to an ageing Windows-based platform on the hardware side.

We wrote a custom .NET/C# middleware service to drive the machine’s ZPL label printer and packaging hardware directly from warehouse order data. The requirements evolved throughout, so we built for change — delivering reliable, functional software that stood up under real production pressure.
